Bionicle Legend Reborn Movie Review
Friday, 25 September 2009 01:54
alexander
Why hello folks! I just watched the new bionicle movie yesterday, and am giving it a A- rating.
Story: The story was pretty good. But very generic. The hero (in this case, mata nui) is blasted to bara magna, and must find a way home. Very RPGish. Characters: The characters were made EXCELLENTLY! Tarix's voice fit her greatly. Teenager was just what I was thinking, because if they made her all high and mighty, I would have hated her. Another cool character was Berix, the thollector (mix of theif and collector). He was pretty funny, and very likable. And the traitor, my favorite bad guy, was funny. Like the part where he said, "Well Mata Nui, you will come back to me BEGGING for this chance" and the Mata Nui's mask went into attack mode and then the guy was like, "that was a joke, really!" and ran out. Ackar was just like a copy of Mata Nui, so I could not care less about him. Gresh was kinda cool, but a generic side-kick-hero guy. The one that allways gets the slamming. Overall: It was a good movie, except for the fact that they DID NOT EVEN FINISH IT! Its like, sheesh.
Now, There is other lego news afoot, but I need to get to bed. its 10:03 PM EST time. I noticed that we got, like about a thousand visitors last month! It is mostly people looking up set numbers though. anyways, SEEYA!

s thought, the Tantive IV & Fire Brigade sets are now available to order from LEGO Store on-line world-wide.
A spokesperson for TT Games, the company that develops many of LEGO's computer games, has said that LEGO have been so impressed with the design work that they have done for the upcoming "LEGO Harry Potter - Years 1-4" game that they are thinking about relaunching a range of Harry Potter sets! I'm sceptical that this will come to anything, but I'm hopeful that it does happen

A press release issued today at LEGO.com shows that in the first thalf of this year its sales and profits have increased significantly due in part to "continued strong growth in classic product lines" which has to be good news for us all. It's interesting that Bionicle is not mentioned because in the past it has been attributed with being the cause of strong sales but this time it's Star Wars and City.
What's more, LEGO seem to be bucking the industry trend of falling profits. This article at Bloomberg states that Mattel have reported a 19% drop in sales during the last quarter so it's great that LEGO's high quality traditional products are still in demand with consumers.
Wow...

Technic 2010

alexander
We had some downtime earlier this morning. I have found out the problem and removed it. Anyways, now onto the 2010 Technic set titles!
Mini telescopic handler Helicopter Compact excavator Buggy And Tractor with crane.
Now... Let us go back the year 1970 (before I was born) and see what legos were like then!
Ambulance

And now lets go foward a little to 2001 and see what Bionicles (They were a Technic Subtheme at the time...) were like!
Toa Lewa

In one year, the toa changed into Nuva. This is Kopaka (I used to have this guy, but I lost the peices...)

2005, The lego star wars video game is out for PC, Gameboy, Xbox, and playstation2.

Also in 2005, the Toa Hordika came out and hit stores... (I was little back then and wasnt into lego. but luckily, I found one in wal*mart last year, thought that was weird...

The gang is on the loose! The piraka come in 2006 and so do the toa inika.

Piraka Zaktan (top) and Toa Inika Jaller (bottom)

Then, we have the Toa Mahri in 2007... (worst year in Bionicle in my opinion)

Then in 2008 we have the Phantoka and then the Mistika (two series in one year is pretty cool)

Then we have 2009... BARA MAGNA! This is the best series I think...

Now we must wait for the movie to come out... September 15 is the day it comes out...

Lego Seattle Space Needle/Fallingwater
Friday, 07 August 2009 18:56
alexander
This is a recent set from lego. looks nice in my opinion...

Build Seattle, Washington's famous Space Needle! Created for the 1962 World's Fair, this sweeping futuristic tower is the fourth in the LEGO Architecture Landmark series of real-world construction models. Built out of gray bricks, the assembled Space Needle stands 8.7 inches (222 mm) tall on a 3.1-inch (80 mm) base with a printed label and includes a booklet with facts about the building, its construction and its history. A striking and imaginative display for your desk, bookshelf or mantelpiece! Replica of real-world architectural landmark Seattle Space Needle! Booklet included with details on design and history! (English language only) Measures 8.7 inches (222 mm) tall and 3.1 inches (80 mm) wide!
but I think I like the Fallingwater set better.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1934, Fallingwater is perhaps the most famous residential home in the world. Open to the public since 1963, this masterpiece exemplifies Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architectural style by intimately merging man with the surrounding landscape. This highly-detailed LEGO model, co-developed and designed by architect Adam Reed Tucker, captures all of the distinctive features that make Fallingwater an architectural landmark. The assembled Fallingwater model stands 10 inches (256 mm) wide on a gray base with printed name label and includes a booklet with facts about the building, its construction and its history. A striking and imaginative display for your desk, bookshelf or mantelpiece! Replica of real-world architectural landmark Fallingwater! Booklet included with details on design and history! (English language only) Measures 10 inches (256 mm) wide!

This guy will hit stores soon...
Trapped on a strange world and stripped of his great powers, Mata Nui must unite a planet to save it from a great evil. Armed with a spiked Thornax launcher, scarab shield, and the powerful Mask of Life, Mata Nui leads the fight for freedom on Bara Magna! Mata Nui is armed with a scarab shield and a spiked Thornax launcher! Includes 1 Life Counter for the new BIONICLE battle game! Measures over 8" (20 cm) tall!
Yeah... The great Mata Nui just "happens" to have no powers and is as weak as the toa (no offense meant to the toa).
